i took a look outside today,
and saw what i had never seen,
it was a sight that's always been there,
but this time it was clean.
i noticed a speck of light,
rolling down my chin,
and with this noticeable sight,
the happiness did begin.
i had no regrets
about waking up today,
and no un-happy thoughts
were in my way.
i was excited to be here
to stand in this world of my own,
i was proud to walk outside,
and call this place my home.
i thought last night
that i would want to go away
but i discovered this morning
i really wanted to stay.
never had i seen
a sight so beautiful
i was comforted instantly
as i stood in this world.
nature is a mystery
so dear to our time
and i praised the heavens
when i was gifted with this sunshine!
