Skipping Stones To Pass The Time
6 April, 2004
Author: Pamela O'Brien
I have driven by that little girl
Time and time again
Never realizing she was still there
Skipping stones and waiting
For her long lost friend to return
So when I walked out onto the riverbed
And she ran to me with open arms
Imagine my surprise to discover
That I had been waiting for her too
Thought she had gotten lost
But she was in front of me all along
Afraid to leave and search for me
In the event that I would return
To find her gone
And then she too would be alone
With no common grounds for us to reunite
