All my life I've thought it was true
I thought that I could only love you
But then something happened
Im not quit sure what
I think tho maybe we were stuck
Nothing seemed to be happening
And we seemed to stop laughing
We used to be happy when we were together
We fit like a bird and its pride feather
I looked around at all the people happy together
We used to be like that we used to be like one another
And then one day it all changed
It seemed to me that you were in pain
I asked what was wrong and you just turned your back
That's when I realized it was not as I thought
Tho I loved you so much
And I thought my life was complete
It must be that you really hated me
One day you finally told me the truth
It hurt so bad I thought we were through
But when we talked it out and made up our minds
We thought there was nothing to decide
All my life I thought it was true
But I now know I will only love you

This is real life, and I'm sure, many of us have known that feeling you have described. This was excellent. Of course, I wonder, what was the problem, perhaps, "we," will never know. Very good poem.

We have the same name!!!
I think it would be really crazy/cool if we were related, I have never known a relative by the name of Kotkin. This is not a joke I found you by typing my own name in a search engine...I am not ashamed to say this for I feel everyone has this same urge at some point in their spare five minutes. Please write back somehow, I'd like to know more about you. By the way it was a very moving poem.
