The Wounds That Never Heal
1 January, 1970

I am so tired of being here
The grassy path of my life
Has never been cleared of boulders
Though I thought I have gone back
To pave a new trail,
Tried to throw aside rough rocks,
Pulling up stubborn weeds
I always end tracking the same
Grass laden trail.

And when I see myself fast approaching
To cross to a new road
The shadows of the forest
Would always grab my mind
And would wrap wild thoughts
A fallen tree branch
As large as an unseen serpent
Would toggle my foot
And i would stumble
Bruising myself, or my being landing
On another being
And pardon was sometimes gray
More faint than the whisper of
Of a dying distant song

And time could never erase
The cuts and wounds inside me
Everytime the thorns and spikes
Seeps in my inner being
In moments of remembering or otherwise
And the regret would always be
As folded like the crease
On my face, on my sunset days
And these are the wounds that never heal.

You're right

Red Dragon, how true it is! There are a lot of wounds that never heal. I hate that too. I like the way you compare nature to the problems we face in life.
OUTSTANDING RD!
