The Storm
26 April, 2003
Author: Red Dragon (Bernz)
You came like cold breeze in summer
Announcing the coming of the rain
And the thirsty leaves and grass will weep no longer
The way my heart has been beating with pain
Your smile was lucid water drops, trickling
Down on every part of my flesh, unbearably aching
>From soul-searching, these beads of anxiety's sweat
Washed, the embrace of late afternoon drizzle's treat
However there is that foreboding hour
By the force of jealousy, infidelity or some unknown
Rain and breeze surges, a heavy downpour
And the deluge defies love, destruction in a troublesome night is thrown
After the storm, your love drifted away in the morning
Left with the pieces of our dreams
Embers of our vows, shattered by lightning
Yes, I know it is inevitable, after your last whisper
As you turned your back, I didn't bat a stare
I've pretended, this passing is all a nightmare
The sorrow has taken me in lengthy shadows,
And thick mask of silence, my face furrows
Once in a while in streams of tears I break
Just mending myself, courage to face the morning, I take
Because after the ruins, the broken pieces I have gathered
Though still undone, stronger I seem to grow
That when another soul passes by and my heart captured
I'll love better, sweeter, this I know..
