Dark Fires
6 May, 2003

Can you see me now
my real inner self shows,
I do not know why this is
like a blurred reflection as the river flows,
the flame that burns me inside
flares and it knows my soul has died,
My heart is so hot that its cold
and my inner love freezes to ice,
tears have stopped and burn my eyes
like a phoenix I begin to rise,
from the dampened ashes of my fear
I begin to sense I'm very near,
I spread my wings and look over
the remains of the previous me,
laid on the icy ground covering the heat
as the shadows of the flames flicker free,
an unusually amazing feelin of power,
breaking me free, then the darkness I devour.
