Cleansing Waterfall
7 April, 2004
Author: Capricorn
My deepest layer's mangled, strife
has struck me - now I'm bruised.
Depression's grime surrounds my life
and makes me feel confused.
When angry wounds discharge their dirt
it over whelms my heart;
as toxins spread, emotions hurt
and life is torn apart.
I long to lift my gloomy mood,
discard the gagging dust.
I imitate a smile and brood
on life, until I'm thrust
in days demise, where light is dim.
My body yearns for peace;
this stress is almost to the brim
of finding sweet release.
Disguised beneath convention's cloak
revealing smiles that gleam
and shroud the dust that makes me choke
as my whole being screams.
The tension fills my days without
a hope of some repose;
the pressure bursts and starts to spill
as my heart overflows
in waterfalls of soothing tears
that bathe my dusty eyes.
My spirit lifts as light appears;
I throw off my disguise.
Yet this finale's not ideal,
for cleansing will ensure
relief, but scabs remain to heal
and time's caress will cure.
