The Perfect Angel

Now I see why religion's so talked about
'Cause in my mind there is no doubt
I would follow whoever created you
Even after death, I'd hold true

The way you make me feel inside there is no way to show...
Just one look my way and I can't deny
Like a child I start to glow

Try as you may, you just won't hide
God is definitely on your side
To make someone as perfect as you
Surely God loves me too
For the greatest gift I've ever had
Was the day that I met you...

What I feel for you can be no crush
I never dreamed I'd love this much
But the biggest pain I'll hold inside
'Cause I know this love will be denied

Here pretty soon I'll be long gone
I don't know why it all seems wrong
For when I'm off in the military
You'll meet your prince
The man you'll marry

And deep inside I'll hide my pain
I won't let your parade see a drop of rain
While in reality, my heart will turn blue
I'll force a smile, just for you
'Cause you deserve the sweet, sweet joy
Of finding yourself the perfect boy

And in the end if he's not me
I'll still thank god, down on one knee
For that lucky day, so long ago
That he made you, the angel I know
'Cause I'd much rather be, your supportive shoulder
Than to say I never knew you, when I grow older
