Valentines Day
16 February, 2004
Author: Ryan K
Valentines Day is going to be different this year
It is going to be weird to not have you here
I am going to miss planning the events for that day
Trying to surprise you and let you know how I love you in every way
I am going to miss seeing your smile after you have just opened a gift from me
Or seeing a tear come from your eye as you read a poem that made you really see
That the love I have for you comes straight from the heart
And that this was only the start
I will miss the feeling I get taking you out to eat
Knowing that I have all the other guys beat
Not that it is a competition in any way
It is still nice to be able to say
She is the most beautiful girl in the room
And she is with whom???
I am going to miss every memory I have of you on that day
With that said there is still something I would like to say
Even though you are in a far away place
And I cannot see your beautiful face
My heart feels so close to you inside
No matter where you go there is not a chance you could hide
So the only thing I have to offer you for Valentines Day is my heart
Because that is the one thing that I can give to you no matter how far we are apart
I know you may still be wrestling with how you feel inside
I respect that 100% but my feelings I know and will not hide!
I have said this before
But God gave me a desire in my heart for something more
So I want to ask you this question before I end this poem
Even though I want you to be my valentine every day when you come home
I would like to start with this one day at a time
For this next phrase I am not sure that I have a rhym
Krista, I love you, would you be my valentine?
