I'll Always Be With You
28 May, 2003
Author: Sarah
She walked into the cemetery with her head held high
She looked around and started to cry
Droplets of rain started to fall
She had memories in her heard and she would remember them all
She walked towards the grave that stood silent and alone
With a single rose engraved in the stone
She placed some flowers and said a prayer
The rain started to pour but she didn't care
Suddenly her surroundings seem to fade and disappear
Taking her to the past where she once held him near
All the romance, all the roses, all the passion deep inside
All the beautiful horses on the beach they used to ride
Her memories flashed before her eyes
Back to where her pain and heartache lies
Back to the day she asked him not to leave
And for his decision she will always greave
He said "I love you" and kissed her goodbye
She turned her head so he wouldn't see her cry
"I'll always be with you" was the last words he spoke
As he gave her hair a gentle stroke
He got into the car and drove away
Leaving her there with nothing to say
The next morning she awoke to the sound of the phone
Looking around to recall she was alone
She picked up the phone wishing she never had
The voice on the line was so very sad
"There has been an accident" was all that was said
She suddenly knew that he was dead
The past faded away into a present thats new
She looked around not knowing what else to do
She stood there a moment before turning away
The clouds started to part and brighten up the day
A beam of sunlight cast down on the stone
She no longer felt that she was alone
She turned back around to plainly see
The image of her love, down on one knee
"I knew you would always be with me" she silently said
He gave a smile and a nod of his head
Then he vanished with the blink of an eye
The only word she could manage was a simple "goodbye"
She walked towards the gate with a smile on her face
He then reappeared in the same exact place
He watched her slowly walk away
She was left all alone to live another day
