Hallucinogenic Dependancy
30 September, 2002

Let me snap you back to a bit of reality boys and girls,
but this reality is not of yours,
nor the world around you,
but that of mine,
and the melting pot that is this dimension.
Before you is a single church,
the sky above is dark and sad,
it echo's angry bellows,
and it's eyes always blinking.
This church has no markings,
it looks abandoned,
and has no loyalty to one God or another.
You can hear chanting from within,
you see a man at the door,
hiding in shadow.
Walking toward the church,
you can see an army in the distance,
one side is bloodthirsty demons,
another, unfeeling machines,
blasts of energy and destruction bouncing back and fourth.
At the door you look down at the man,
he's hardly visible,
it's like he is the shadow.
But you can see him trembling,
either in fear or in weakness,
if not both,
he's nothing more than skin and bones.
As you begin to open the door,
the trembling man speaks to you,
saying with a wisper,
"please,"
"please,"
"will you help me?"
And almost as if it were automatic,
you reach into your pocket and retrieve a few coins,
tossing them to the ground,
they bounce and jingle,
and you think you hear the man growl as you enter...
Once inside it's as if the church were always used,
candles line the walls,
people are inside worshiping,
you cant see them as your eyes burn,
becomed used to the new gloomy light.
The ceiling above has a hole to one side,
you can see the stars amongst the clouds,
or maybe it's just aircraft droping bombs,
which explains why things are dripping from them.
You can hear the people as they pray,
they foretell of a great destruction,
they say "He" will come to them and end this reality,
He will bring a victory to the war outside the church,
He will have power beyond any that are here.
Are the talking of the One God?
Are the speaking of the Dark Lord?
Are they praying to someone new?
Too bad you dont know where you are.
You turn around as you hear the door open,
but all you see is the door drifting close.
Turning back around to the ones that are praying,
you are met by the man you "helped" outside,
his eyes sunken in,
his skin pale,
he really does look like a human skeleton.
The black clad man grips your neck in one hand,
raising another skyward,
announcing that He has arrived,
the worshipers begin to celebrate,
breaking out fine tableware and cloth.
The sky blinks again and lets out another bellow,
but now it begins to cry blood red tears,
this devil man then,
as the storm begins,
snaps your neck and bites down upon it.
Quenching his thirst,
then pulling away,
allowing the others to fill there cups and dine upon you,
all the while you seem to scream as the world pulls away from you.
-----------------
As quickly as you were killed you awaken in class,
you scream and cause all to look at you.
It dosnt matter.
It was all just a bad dream,
you release your achy grip from your pencil as you look down,
on a single sheet of paper you find the following phrase writen in blood:
"Come back soon!"
You scream more as you realize it wasnt just an ordinary dream...
