Carolina's Rose Garden

The dust has settled,
the war machines have rusted and fallen,
the clouds of misery are separating in my world,
shedding light upon the war torn landscape.

All around blood soaks the ground,
machines of war spill there black blood upon the ground,
killing what life remains surrounding them.

Whats this?
A flower?
A red rose?
Interesting....

A summers bloom,
the first of the season,
though as out of place as it is,
here in this scorched world.

Even more intriguing,
it's beginning to snow...
A rose thats grown upon this here hill,
it's petals opening to collect the scattered rays of sun,
and yet it's beginning to snow!

Hard to explain this I supposed,
a rose with snow,
yet there is no real cold out here beyond the castle walls.

Such a shame...
It's snowing harder...
I was hoping it would not do so,
in the hopes the rose could grow and perhaps bring new life into the world...

----

Hours have passed,
and the snow has stopped,
outside the machines and bodies give of a morbid scene,
as this world has no hope for life at all,
like a graveyard almost...

Atop the hill the rose emerges from the snow,
along with it a dozen other roses,
footprints of a mystery person surrounding the roses,
surrounding that seeds upon the ground for more.

The sun continues to shine,
though occasionally blotted out by the clouds,
the sun has yet to melt,
yet the roses continue to shine,
roses of a bright blood red,
the blood from a wounded heart,
a mending heart,
being tended to by a mystery woman,
a mystery woman and time...
