We owe a great deal to trees.
They protect you from the raindrops
they shield you from the sun
they supply you with fruit
and climbing for fun.
In response,
what do you do?
You chop them down
until there are few.
They have an exterior
you can see
the interior ignored
how can that be?
They take your carvings
as they bleed
they sacrifice themselves
for your need
of building materials,
paper and pencils,
firewood,
and some utensils.
They give you much,
and they're neglected
their poor souls
are infected.
I am a tree.
