Killing Machines

(Co-written with Dreamer)
This is just a part of the killing machine
This is real life, it's not on a screen
Every life that you see is expendable
No one now alive is dependable
They are all out to save their own skins
But in the end the machine wins
Hope all that you want and try all that you like
They don't backstab each other, we're not alike
We're no longer human when we cease to care
We are all robotic we're just not aware
There is just no personification
We start to question God and all of creation
There is no ideal life for only one
You want to fight for your life, take up a gun
For when the truth invades and your world grows dark
Make sure your shot is made and doesn't miss it's mark
You spend too many hours waiting for a sound
They jump out of the shadows, it seems that you're found
You don't ask how many, you just start to fire
All this seems to do is make the body count higher
Body after body starts to fall to the ground
You've killed all before you so you turn around
Here comes another but he's six years old
You empty out the chamber and his body grows cold
------- Author's Notes -------
This writing was inspired by Dreamer's poem by the same name. She asked that I put music to her words. Lyrical changes were made to fit better with the music. This was the finished work. |
