A Dreamers Reality

Over to my left, an ant sticks to the wall
Oblivious to the world, afraid that it might fall
It seems the ant is me, I'm also afraid
Of what might become, of what fate has made
I know I don't deserve, the best life in the world
Life is like a house, with paint cracked and curled
It's always getting worse, no matter how I've tried
I wish it was good, I wish I had my pride
So I then set out, with tough choices ahead
To find someone else, that doesn't want me dead
I found a message board, for suicide and pain
I found a few friends, Island Refuge was its name
But I got kicked out, they said I was depressed
Far too much to help, so give it a rest
I couldn't believe, what they had just done
They stuck me in a corner, then handed me the gun
I was again close, to my suicide
I didn't give a fuck, I'd nothing to hide
So I found a site, and let go all I had
All that made me angry, and all that made me sad
At first I felt much worse, but I had to share
But then I was surprised, someone seemed to care
Erin found my poem, in March two thousand one
The poem was Fake Smile, she said "nicely done"
This made me wake up, and see all that there are
Someone here would listen, no matter what the scar
So I dedicate, this poem to all of you
For saving my life, and making me anew
There's little else I have, for showing what you meant
And the distant friendships, which you all have lent
I wish you all the best, in your respective art
I thank you all so much, for changing my heart
