She's Gone

Author: Seizure
She was just 18, but her smile was so bright
I'll never forget her words, that she spoke that night
Every word, made me pleased, we had so much love
She'd always make jokes, and give a friendly shove
We'd write each other all the time, and talk on the phone
We always paid each other back, no matter what the loan
She was always full of life, and always ready to go
What happened later that night, neither of us could know
She wanted to go pick up, some more of our friends
So we said, "goodbye," as the conversation ends
She would be right back, later that Friday night
But then I got the call; it was a horrible sight
Speeding down the road, like several times before
A pickup slammed into her, now she was no more
I drove to go help her; I knew I could some way
She can't really go, there's still debts I must repay
I made it to the scene; I went up to the sight
I couldn't see that much, there wasn't enough light
A cop pushed me back; I said, "What's going on?"
He looked me in the eye, "I'm sorry but she's gone."
I pushed past him, and tried to open the door
I couldn't even budge it, as she slid down to the floor
Now she's to be laid to rest, what a tragic end
Her pants had a note; I'm sorry Josh, my friend
