Silent Departing
22 January, 2001
Author: Serenity
You didn't have to leave,
You didn't have to go,
If your wish was to depart,
You could have let us know.
Now when you are gone,
When the black curtains have been drawn,
We long for you to return,
We sit and watch the candle burn.
Why is it that you left?
Must all things end in death?
A pair of beautiful wings,
In return for the tragedy,
A heavenly voice sings,
After the crash of calamity.
You didn't have to leave,
You didn't have to go,
You found a place in Heaven,
This much I do know.
And now, it is I who must let you go.
