Rain Shower
17 January, 2004
Author: Shan
Hands steadily held out to the sky
Rain dripping down on my arms
Drops falling in my eye
I throw my head back
And ask the stars, Why.
Each drop of rain,
brings another pound of weight
In each drop I can taste,
the me who's gone to waist
I can't handle much more
The acid rain makes me melt
A me dismantled is all that's in store
It's all I've known, all I've felt
I crumble to my knees,
grasp my face in my hands
Tears slipping between my fingers
Rain sticking to where I stand
Each drop from the sky
that falls hard and uncaring
Represents the ones from my eyes
that show the pain I am baring
I'm still young and confused
I'm still needing guidance and love
I'm in silence, I'm bruised
As I cry to the stars up above
This drop is for my mother
This one for the family I've lost
One more drip on top of another
Amounting to all this life has caused
I roughly dry the water from my eyes
Stand up once again, and look to the sky
The clouds are breaking, the stars shine bright
I make a wish one more time
For my path to clear, for me to be all right
