Tonight I laid you down to sleep
you protested as you did everynight
I rested the clock up as a light
Kissed your forehead and said good night
I brought the light switch down
darkening the room
Goblins and monsters now all around
As you're caught in imaginations tomb
I flew upstairs when I heard you scream
Knowing how scary monsters can be
"I'm going to lay with you, just until you sleep,"
"I'll stay with you until you dream"
I put my arms around you
and pulled you in tight
Guarding you from whatever
is harming you tonight
Just then I saw how much you mean
How precious a little touch can be
The middle of your heart is wrapped around me
And a sense of security has also found me
I'll hold your hand when you need me
I'll hold my stand where you need me to be
I'll teach you things, show you love
I'll reach what brings you
your dreams from above
I'm watching you drift off to sleep
in slumbers of a childs dream
I mumble to you and myself
That nothing could break you and me
Together we'll make life forever
Take life for the better to see
I know we'll make life alright together, you see
You're not just "some little sister" to me
