Expectations
11 March, 2004
Author: Shorty
You expect me to be different,
Expect me to change,
be perfect,
and happy,
And then you get mad when I tell you I feel like the walls are caving in.
I've been through more than you know,
and still you treat me like I'm an inexperienced little kid with no feelings at all.
And when I bare my true soul,
and tell you how it really is,
you tell me I'm wrong and to go live withmy dad.
I'm stuck here because of friends and siblings,
yet yearning to leave because of lack of understanding
and the expectations you hold so high.

Meridian (205.188.208.134) -- Thursday, March 18 2004, 07:34 pm Shorty, I know somebody who I can name that does the same thing, but I won't. I'm not against them or anything, it's just that some people need to take other's people's feelings into consideration. Great poem Shorty! |
