Ponder
21 December, 2003
Author: Stacey
It seems like only yesterday
when she was just a child
There was no hope
The sky was gray
He took away her smile
Ice cold tears
streamed down her face
Secrets, she would hide
Pain, that she kept locked away
No one to confide
Death she pondered
several times
Gazing, at the knife
Alcohol, to numb her mind
If she would take her life
She picked herself
up off the ground
Held her head up high
She wiped away
her bloody tears
It wasn't time
to die

Tarna (75.14.215.82) -- Sunday, January 25 2009, 06:14 pm As we move through out youth and grow into adults The choices we make form us. We can wallow in self pity and grow into adults that feel the world owes us something. We can also choose to move on get up and dust ourselves off and continue knowing that something better waits around the corner. Inner strength is what this poem shows.. To preserve, to survive, to live and love another day.. She was right.. it was not time to die.. it was a day to begin to live.. enjoyed this read |
