Summer’s breeze – too familiar now
Howling through this hollow capsule
Whose edges faint and frail –
Soul’s burrier unraveled.
And no sensation with it passes
For numbness borne of pain and sadness.
Know. Summer rides on changing time
The seasons strung in proper line
Whether seen stretched thin or gathered close
As each is opened, so each will close.
Through it all I stood, naïve devotion
While passing over me, the seasons of the ocean
Brutal winters, they crested atop me
Soft summers warmed and healed – temporarily –
And once more is come upon the breeze
Though now I fold to the wave – upon my knees.
Let it sweep my ashen threads – I, from the cycle, freed
As time washes me away into eternity.
