Death To The Fool
28 April, 2003
Author: Stacy
why
do I truth deny
my heart defy
to taste the lie?
sure, the sweeter may it be
but solely momentarily,
for fleeting is the bliss
that dissolves with bitterness.
when I have seen the flaw before
and against it devoutly swore
remembering well the pain I bore
in the absence of a reason wherefore
why -- then -- do I yearn yet still for my fill.
oh, to defy sweet sin, I've not the will
and should I not now learn from the past?
should I let this lesson be my last?
