Demystified

Author: Stacy
Thickened clouds seeping up from wetted pavement
My naked flesh smothered in night's oppressive blanket
Serpentine wreaths coil about my throat
Fully entrapped by an ocean of smoke
The biting chills in the air batter my skin
My naive foolishness weighs upon my rim
The pungent smell of those trapped here and strangled before
Waft up to grasp me from Innocence's stained floor
Fuming emotions overtake me, I fall into the ground
Shrieking cries rest upon my lips but do not make a sound
Confined inside they echo, resounding Truth's repulsive words --
"You've led yourself down this path, into this trap -- alone, alone, alone...

Rick Ryckman (67.234.4.64) -- Wednesday, December 22 2004, 07:30 pm Hi Stacy, I have been to many, many sites of prose. I read poems for the nourishment of my soul. Wrapped in the battles of my thoughts ---- there are quiet times. When i am on the site, i read every poem. Taking nothing for granted, for i do not want to miss that certain poem. I am very glad that i was in the right place, at the right time to be able to read your words. Some are good - some are bad/ Than you come across a great poem////// This one has my vote. [ Memystified ] Thank you/ |
