Soul Mates
27 December, 2002
Author: Stacy
He the sun, and I the moon
eternal soul mates through and through.
Trapped in a world more bitter than sweet
for but one instant in each life we meet.
As day is begun and night is ended,
we come together in time suspended.
But time stretched thin alas releases,
and all happiness, joy inside us ceases.
As he slowly, sorrowfully crosses the sky
hungry for sunset, waiting to die
I mourn in bitter darkness, devoid of his light
we both clinging to memories to carry us to night.
And there, alas, we meet again
as day ends and night begins
with his streaming light, I'm set agleam
we two, alone in seemingly eternal dream.
But from our deaths, new life grows,
and forever on this cycle flows
the prolonged bitter and the fleeting sweet,
forever yearning for the next time we shall meet.
