The Blues
4 December, 2001

The snow gently falls
And the music fills her soul
The wailing of the guitar
Fingers strumming her heartstrings
They call it the blues
But it sends gleaming bolts of metallic hue
Shooting through her cold heart
She closes her eyes and sees them there
Feels the electrical magic
So intense
Yet so soothing
The beast that lives inside her relaxes
And allows itself to be carried away
On wings of ecstasy
That only the music man can bring to life
Body swaying to the sultry sound
She forgets that she is alone
Taken back in time to days of rapture
And dances for the one who once watched in awe
The rhythym races through her veins
More life giving than the blood that flows there
A smile of such intensity on her tired face that had she seen
She would not recognize herself
Overcome by the beauty of the sadness
Taken to a place of bittersweet joy
For a few brief moments in time
She shines anew
