From my eyes I see the pain
Buried deep within you
From my eyes I see the savagery
Senseless acts of cowards
From my eyes I see the heartache
Emanating from your soul
From my eyes I see your eyes
So overcome with grief
From my eyes I see soot and sweat
That clings to your tired face
From my eyes I see your will
Standing firm, sure
From my eyes you are strong
Never looking back
From my eyes I see heroes stand
Searching, hoping...praying
From my eyes I see the fear
Of the injured and lost
From my eyes I see the emptiness
Your memories, which flow with pain
From my eyes I see one people
Over coming odds
From my eyes I see hope
Of many lives saved
From my eyes I see the miracle
Of togetherness and unity
From my eyes I see love
That truly conquers all
From my eyes I see the confidence
That was never lost
From my eyes I will treasure
That which will not be destroyed
From my eyes freedom remains vibrant
The American way shall endure
From my eyes we continue to strive
We as Americans will survive
From my eyes I wipe away the tears
I will look to the future
From my eyes
