Remember Where You Come From
17 May, 2002
Author: Tara Barnwell
You've got to believe in yourself,
Before anyone else will.
You've got to learn to love yourself,
Before anyone else can.
You've got to take yourself seriously,
Or everyone else will laugh at you.
Believe you can achieve your dreams,
It won't happen over night,
But it most certainly will happen.
The most appreciated people in this world,
Work half their lives before they get anywhere.
Appreciate what you've got,
And it will seem more.
Don't trade your faith for the sake of cash,
Once you've lost it,
You'll find it hard to replace.
Be your own individual,
And you'll gain more respect.
Don't follow the trends,
Or you'll never get anywhere new,
Only end up doing what's already been done.
Once you've fulfilled your dream,
Don't forget to thank those who helped make it happen.
Don't loose your head,
Don't get mixed up in all the hype.
You'll loose all around you,
Who you hold dear.
Keep your feet planted on the ground,
And your head out of the clouds.
It's okay to dream,
Just as long as you come back to reality.
Remember where you come from,
Be proud of yourself,
And nothing else will ever matter.
