See-ers Door
11 February, 2003
Author: Temporal Tragedy
Sent forward through a door in time
She was accused of a dreadful crime
The See-ers knew that their Gifted Dear
Would be well looked after here
For in the time from whence she came
To be true to her nature was a deadly game
And yet those in need, she nurtured well
Until ignorance claimed she'd cast a spell
"In league with Demons!", the crowds did roar
"Let her burn..for such is law!"
As they dragged the woman out
They listened to the preacher shout.
The skies grew angry, the animals paced
The See-er stood, hands interlaced
The woman prayed quietly under her hood
Then lightning struck her where she stood.
The preacher claimed intervention from God
The See-ers walked away with a nod
For they knew their precious Gifted One
In the future, was safely ensconced
She knows where she came from,
She knows why she's here
Even now in present day, they still call her queer
But here in the future you cannot be burned
For your heritage or the things that you learn
So for the time being, to herself she is true
When she's no longer safe, another door she'll walk through.
At night she hears whispers from teachers of old
"Listen not to words from others you're told"
"For knowledge from within can't be bought or sold!
"Rather, trust in your heart, for it is pure gold."
The whispers fade with the morning light
Yet to such wisdom, she holds on tight
For every day she tends to those in need
And thanks God she can do so, for such is her creed.
