Summer-ray
24 December, 2003
Author: Terrie*
she didn't visit us much today
she was out for only a short time
she wasn't feeling to warm today
some days she was always first on the scene
she promised to stay a bit longer
she was not there to greet
what was so important today?
if she would of asked i would of told her it was not time
but now she over did it
she packed up and moved on
sure, someday she will return
she knows that with open arms we will wait
but what was so different today?
why did she rush out so briskly?
gave no warning, didn't say good-bye
she took off with that golden ray
then.......before too long winter arrived...
he brought snow to the ground
no signs of warmth to be found
good-bye ..Dear 'ol summer-ray,
please next time, I beg... a bit longer, I hope you'll stay....
