I Have This Friend by Terrie*

I have this friend whom I have never met
my friends poetry and comments always hits a sensitive spot in my heart
it activates visions that I've more than often seen
it embraces and caress's the inflictions I've come across
restores and relives love of long ago lost
my friends poems remind me to be to see and feel
the life of another soul, as it becomes my own
my friend captures and returns me to my humblest time
when I know I can judge not a living soul
my friend is a soul that has seen the best & worst of both worlds
my friend doesn't believe in giving up
my friend has this charm this charisma that is one of a kind
that triggers something wonderfully fierce in the pit of my stomach
creates a burning sensation that gets satisfied knowing that my pain is about to cease
my friends heart is more than genuine , fragile yet very strong
my friend carries words of wisdom in all aspects in life
my friends poems erase all bad shadows of the dark
my friends poems hold me by my hand,tuck me in at night
my friends poetry snuggles up with me dusk til dawn, dawn til dusk
it serves as my umbrella on a rainy day
my shaded tree under the sun
serves as a shield from the fierce wind
it becomes my mountain to climb
my fear that i must overcome
it is my wing to protect me from those that may try to bring me harm
if you've stumbled and fell
you can count on my friend to pick you up
if you need a strong shoulder a solid bridge
you can count on my friend to be the first one there to help you across
my friends poetry is powerful and street-wise
my friends words have taught us how to love and survive
my friend has a way to melt your heart
do you need to know more about this friend that I have never met?
I feel that I need not know my friend by face
I'm content knowing my friend by the words that is shared with you and i
our poetry hides us not
it tells our life story if you take the time to read deeply between each line

you are like a brother/sister
I love you more and more in each passing day
I wish you many blessed tomorrows
may God reward you with the best...
you may not be aware...
but it is time you took the credit for sharing your life,
a stepping stone ,a rope to climb into the heart of someone elses life
be it a troubled youth, highschool or college bound away from home
a struggling single mom like me
a distraught dad whom lives next door
your poetry is an enlightment ,for many like me
seeking a solution to break and gain ground.....
trying to find solice peace and understanding
persuing a new horizon taking that untamed walk alone
thereforeI take this time to tell you my friend
thank you for adding some character , some understanding to my world
for preventing my smile from turning into a frown....
for believing that I would rise ,when I fall
for not abandoning me in my darkest hour
for the many sleepless nights
you spent comforting me.....
So....each time I feel a tear coming down followed by a strong embrace.....
I will think of you.."

you ask ...how do I know of this special friend?
wisdom I have not...
I know not of many things..
but...this I can honestly say
I believe in things I do not see..
I feel things that I believe...
look up and you will know ....
now you know ,why?....
I took this time to tell you about my friend

I feel your heart, as the cup pf love, so full, its running over, over into the words and thoughts, of so many poet's thoughts. Like you, I to share and appreciated, the wisdom shared, from every poet's thought. Words are never strangers, when they come from the heart, and you have felt many words, from other poet's hearts.

We all thank you for recognizing all of us and your endearing thought, about the words, who we share as friends, and coming from our hearts.
