(adapted from the original text, Beginning Of Days, Silmarillon)

There in Valinor was a green mound
Known by the name of Ezellohar,
Which is also known as Corollaire.
Yavanna sang it a song and Nienna watered it with tears.

Lo and behold! Two slender shoots arose
Which grew and became fair and tall
And the world saw the awakening of
The Two Trees of Valinor.

Teleperion as one tree was known
Had leaves of dark green and shining silver beneath.
A dew of silver light was ever falling from each of his countless flowers
its fluttering leaves cast shadows upon the earth.

The other was known as Laurelin
Bearing leaves of young green, its edges were of glittering gold.
Its flowers spilled golden rain upon the ground
Warmth and great light was ever felt.

Thus began the Days of Bliss of Valinor
And began also the Count of Times
As Telperion and Laurelin waxed and waned,
And the mingling of their lights caused great beauty ever.

------- Author's Notes -------

These are original works insofar as I based them on a story by J.R.R. Tolkien.
It was in prose form and I translated it into poetry
