My Shadow And I

I woke up from an dream last night
it was an incredible sight.
from what i could see
my shadow was chasing me.

it wasn't scary or anything of the sort
just reminding me that life is too short.
i use the revolving door a bit too much
life in general i'm out of touch.

into my life i took a peek
i have no life,basically i work 7 days a week
my life slowly on by it drifts
some days i work 16 hour shifts.

my shadow has always stood behind me
last night it was chasing me so i could see.
to work less,enjoy life more
put a halt to the revolving door.

my shadow is known to be wise
so tomorrow i'm going to take it's advice

Work to live, not......

Work to live, not live to work...yeah, that's something I can agree with! Ha! Ha! I like this one, Terrie! Making sure of the more important things is good. Thanks for your poem!!
