The Way We Were - 2
26 July, 2003
Author: Bench
I remember the days
When life was simple
And pleasures were shallow.
We'd fly kites in the morning
And chase grasshoppers in the afternoon.
There were days when we would lie on the grass
And look up at the clouds
Trying to form shapes and images.
There were nights when we would come together
And share scary stories
Trying to see who would be the sissy.
On rainy days, we'd not mind getting wet,
Playing in the puddles and make castles out of mud.
Or we'd just stay indoors
And make costumes out of blankets
Coming up with outrageous plots and schemes.
We've had endless ideas for novel games,
And we'd never get bored.
Yes, this was my childhood,
My most cherished possession.
