Joy In Simplicity
27 March, 2001
Author: Tonya Dzierzon
As the coconuts rustle within the palm trees
My mind is set completely at ease
As the ocean roars with each crashing wave
I feel myself become that much more brave
To face the course of life laid down for me
I meditate in this place of serenity
As I breathe in the cool, salty, air
I let go of the past and all I could not bear
As I plant my feet in the warm, white sand
I know I must try all that I can
To become what the world expects of me
But I must first look within, that is the key
So as the ocean air blows warmth across my face
I continue to soul-search in this sacred place.
