Moonshadows
19 September, 1999
Author: Velma Brown
Silver on black-
night is a negative.
Trees hover like bosky sentinels,
tracing laced patterns
on ebon lawns.
Cornered fears
crouch like black panthers
-as small hours settle softly
in the nest of time.
The world sleeps,
while moonshadows
walk on careful feet,
ready to flee
at the first faint threat
of dawn.
