Three Commentaries On Contemporary Times, Baby
27 July, 2003
Author: Will Berry
"Vows"
Before entering the nuptial room,
The blushing bride, the nervous groom,
Had to straight march,
Through an electronic arch,
The lady taking off her wedding gown,
For the usual weapons shake-down.
"Candidate"
Ask me straight questions,
I can tell you no lies,
But at least allow me,
To improvise,
As I did in my youth,
I'll be 16 miles,
From cohesive truth.
"Pollution"
Beer can, beer can,
Laying upon someone's lawn,
It's contents drawn,
It's memories gone,
I picked up this tinny eyesore,
To desecrate no more,
Turning it upside down,
A cigarette fell to the ground,
Another contemporary dose,
Damn, that's so gross.
