Mellow Tides
13 June, 2002
Author: Will Berry
Peacefully,
Comes the wash,
Upon the beaches of my consciousness,
Softly,
They slide up and cleanse,
The terrors of today,
Soothing now,
My mind can stop itself at last,
And refresh,
These waters are warm,
And purify my hearth,
Putting out the flames,
Carrying me out in their gentle backwash,
Sanctifying,
A sanction for another day,
But now, a holy rest,
Sleep.
