Cannonade
18 May, 2002
Author: Will Berry
The cannons roar,
Evermore,
In our new century,
Imperfection in our evolution,
Is it foreseen that we have a killing gene?
Technology expands at an unmatchable pace,
Outdistancing the minds of a refugee race,
Then hostility can never cease,
The reality is myth,
Peace,
A man once wrote,
Crying,
"Wars are conducted by governments,
They only hire people to do the dying."
