August Tears

She saw the children sitting in the sharp blades of grass
playing with the gumball-like marbles that were radiantly gleaming in the golden sunset.
The leaves were falling from the tree branches
like tears escaping from a mourning mothers' eyes.
The leaves slowly glided from the trees
Shattering as they hit the ground with such a force
Leaving behind but a deafening sound, so silent, so true.
------- Author's Notes -------
