Yours

Author: Your Melody
I tired calling you last night
just to tell you that I knew you were right
from the beginning I knew how it'd end
both of our families off on the reprimand
We tried to hold it together
but I just can't go on like this forever
My feelings run far to deep
my mind is too strong to let me weep
my embrace is too tight to say good-bye
my heart is too soft to try and lie
I love you so much
but I know I can't keep you
My doorbell just rang and I opened the door
there you stand as raindrops fall
from God's wide open hand
You ask me where all the happiness went,
all the laughter, love and more?
"I don't know," I quietly say,
but I know that I want to be yours,
Yours to hold and to keep,
to watch over and to protect
"Yours for better or for worse,
for richer or poorer,
for sickness and in health,
forever and for always yours,
till death do us part. I do."
