Make This Up As I Go Along

I make this up as I go along
'cause the power of the stage is feeling strong.
The stage is such a rage
so I can't stay here for very long.
Yes, I'm poor,
I steal from the store.
Yes, I'm poor,
does that make me any less of a man,
does that mean I can't have a plan?
What does it mean? It's obscene...
you think I'm poor
'cause I collect bottles and cans
. We all live in the same land,
punks, preps, poor, rich,-
we all work for the same sonofabitch -
the System.
The System is our prison guard
and we are the prisoners,
trapped, living in ourselves,
looking for our true pals,
putting ourselves through our own hells,
trying to relate
to what other people are saying,
hoping and praying
to live just one more day
so people finally see how we live
and hear what we got to say.

Good Job!!!

I loved your poem....it spoke the truth... People at my school think that im too good...that im stuck up...to me thats what this poem is all about...i cant help that i have alot of friends or that i am good at sports or cheerleading or that im popular...but i am a person...i have feelings just like everyone else...i have a mind like everyone else....I dont act like im better...i do charity....i hang with people that dont exactly fit in with my other friends but i think of them as people...not because they have the best clothes or the nicest cars or house....i dont care if they have money or anything...but thank you for writing this it made me think about things that ive had to go through my whole life....GOOD POEM....
