Curtain Calls
3 November, 1998
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
Tonight I kiss you away
My dream, My love, My trust
I give you back to the empty darkness
From that which you came
I try to forget
Your words, your smile, your touch
I try to harden myself
To the feelings I let show
We have danced our last dances
And we knew our good-byes happened long ago
We knew it then... It was over
Our illusions spent
As the stage light dims and the fog departs
I look and I realize I am alone
Perhaps I always was
And maybe... always will be
I slowly back away
As the dream fades, and the curtain falls
No applause this time, No mobs of well wishes
Just a darkened empty stage
And a spotlight of tears
