The Diary
10 February, 1999
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
Timeless words fill endless pages
Diaries of life's pain and joy
Nightly written lyrical expressions
Emotions in time capsules of paper and pen
Yesterdays sorrows now left for tomorrow's memories
A tear falls as past words are reread
An old shared smile again crosses your face
Life anecdotes encased in crystal palaces of the mind
A time passes with no tear or joy
What was happening then
Was the world void , or memories unworthy
Could the pain be too deep to say
Silently the words begin the flow once more
Pen in hand the cryptic messages return
Are the thoughts wisdom or foolish ramblings
Will tomorrow's reading reveal what was the future today
Secret diary,
Put aside
Under mattress, or pillow
Thoughts we hide
Tomorrow's children find you
Not just parents, grandparents as judged
But as people, caring human
And feelings in diaries of Love
------- Author's Notes -------
Sharing the words we think and say leaves our legacy or humanism behind for others to see |
