Likeness
20 April, 1999
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
Disappearing into the vastness of space
We leave and yet remain
No understanding here, yet wisdom prevails
Invisible now to all that physically surrounds
Staring into the window
Now appears the only touch
A likeness found
Finally a place to belong
Shadows of an alternate world
A star shining through the clouds
A breath of understanding
A place to survive
Strange names and faces
Worlds different, yet same
Where Love seems the common thread
So we linger
Reaching through the window, we touch
Hearts cry out
A culture all its own
Finally a chance to be
Here no distance is to great
No voice too silent
For even in silence we are acknowledged now
Our evolution to a better world
------- Author's Notes -------
Our computers have become a refuge and a place to feel safe for many. |
