Reality Strikes
20 August, 1999
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
The world seems to change all around us
But the multitudes still stay the same
Caught up in the routines of a lifetime
Opportunities lost as they came
Minds caught up in their surroundings
Never.. from well beaten paths do we stray
Lambs to a slaughter we follow
Blind trust in the American way
Slowly the freedom's dissolving
With blinders, we don’t even see
The life as we knew it is over
With lives that are no longer free
We no longer raise our families
Slave labor.. we work till we drop
For any mistake we pay dearly
Oh, when will the insanity stop
So I say with small voice among us
Heed look where you really stand
Just try to do something about it
If by chance.. your rights say that you can.
