Gift's Of The Poet
14 October, 1999
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
A poet's gifts are his words
Immortalized forever a thought
Most precious heart, it calls
Lyrical statements respond
A life of which others are blind
Magical phrases appear in mind
As the heart feels eager to respond
Driven the words flow forth
Forming themselves upon life's sands
Lost are so many to the tides
Washed up at the wrong time
No paper, no pen, left to the mind
As they again fade back whence they came
Music in everything seen and heard
Feelings in emotional response
Flowing like rivers of forever, they move
And in pools of remembrance they remain
