Your Fear... My Time
17 November, 1999
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
Your fear leads to my anxiety
Where there was little, now is more
Your memories of my pain linger
As I try to forget and forgive
Your fear for my core touches me
And I admire you as my friend
Relax and leave me to my choices
Protect not with the pillow to my head
You expect me to hide from my fear
But as always I face it head on
I can only pray I not be sorry
I pray that your fears are unsung
The test of my strength is forthcoming
This time anxiety won't win
I can not hide from the past
I will NOT hide from their sin
What has hurt me before will not hurt me again
For this is a choice I have made
It's my life, and I take it back
Clumps of dirt in my hand turn to sand
------- Author's Notes -------
The holiday season brings me to a place where I again have to face that which has hurt me most. But I am a survivor... and with that knowledge I try to remain strong. |
