Another's Eyes
6 February, 2000
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
If I looked through another's eyes
Would I truly like what I see
The person I appear to others
The Person I seem to be
Would I see the caring I feel
Would I know what is in my heart
Or would I just be another face
Eyes un-met in a crowded space
Would I give me a chance
Or be put off by the visual
Would I laugh at my jokes
And find me acceptable
Would I laugh at my dreams
That now, to me are important
Would I think me strange
And slightly deranged
I like to believe I would like me
To have as a best friend
Someone I could count on
Someone trust-worthy to the end
------- Author's Notes -------
Sometimes how we see ourselves may not be how we are viewed by others. If we put ourselves in their shoes.. Who would we see? And would we like what we see? |

Angie () -- Saturday, October 20 2001, 06:00 am This poem is really encouraging, it is a great reminder to ourselves and how we should think about everything we do or say to other people. |
John Hearne () -- Thursday, April 25 2002, 06:00 am This poem touches on the same chord that "Introspection" does and tells a truth. I see Angie commented on it so if you see this Angie, check it out |
