Perspective
23 February, 2000
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
I am not so blind that I can not see
the truth of all that lies before me
Nor so deaf that I can not hear
the cry's from the horrors that men do
I taste the bitter flavors of the hunger
for love missing from men's souls
I smell the stench that is spewed
from mouths of those with narrow mind's
I can feel the pain and hurt of the wronged
failed by the system that was to protect
I know of the damage done to the heart
from betrayals worse then rape
I choose to think not, of these things in dread
fearing life... so I'm left incomplete
But live in the anticipation of each tomorrow
that a better way will emerge from what's spent
------- Author's Notes -------
I have been told I am unaware of what is going on around me, that I am hiding from the 'true' reality. |
